A City Built on History
Now Open: 313 5th Ave NW Attalla, AL
Nestled along the old railway line, Attalla began as a strategic Creek-era settlement before blooming into a bustling railroad and iron-ore hub in the late 1800s. From the flicker of the nation’s first hydroelectric lights in early 1900’s to rebuilding in brick after catastrophic fires, our city helped light the path for Alabama Power. Through the turbulence of wars and industry, Attalla has held fast to its spirit—and today our Museum celebrates this journey, from Native roots and railroad riches to community resilience.
